Compliance Manager
Set up by a former Teacher, this education recruitment agency based in Bristol specialises in SEND recruitment across Bristol and the surrounding areas. They believe strongly in giving back to the sector and have worked in partnership with a lot of their schools for many years. They also give a percentage of profits back to charity. As well as offering Team Teach and CPD to all teachers and support staff working for them.
This close Bristol team has been growing over the last few years and they are looking for an experienced Compliance manager to join the team.
This is a very important role in the office as ensures all candidates are safely vetted before beginning work. It is very process driven and would suit someone very organised.
The Role
Compliance checks for every candidate interviewed by the team.
Sending for references, checking they meet our safeguarding standards and cover all necessary gaps
Ensuring candidates have a right to work in the UK
Processing DBS checks for candidates
Checking application forms, and performing risk assessments e.g. if a candidate has a previous criminal record
Working with the consultants to ensure candidates are suitable for the role and have provided all necessary documents.
Signing off on all candidate files and confirming that they can work
Providing a smooth and easy journey through the recruitment process for the candidates
Assisting consultants as to when candidates need overseas police checks and how to obtain those
Supporting the director with additional administration as needed, this may include writing emails, sending bulk messages, and support with CPD administration
Supporting with payroll and financial administration, this includes obtaining credit notes, liaising with payroll, and helping with general payroll enquiries
Keeping up to date with regulatory changes such as the Right to Work, or Safeguarding
Training new consultants in compliance and updating the team with any changes
This role could also encompass some HR duties such as assisting the director with annual leave requests
Acting as a senior member of the team, and being the "go-to" person if the manager is out of the office
